Hangouts Meet: Empowering Remote Learning like Never Before
Google has made more improvements in order to make the Hangout meet more efficient for remote learning purposes. Now only the event creator can mute or remove other participants.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, remote learning activity has become an essential part of every organization and institute. Hangouts Meet Premium features are now available for G Suite users to improve the remote learning experience.
Google has made several improvements like:
Only the calendar owners or event creators will be able to remove or mute other participants in a meeting.
Meeting participants can not rejoin in the nick-named meeting once the final participant has left.
How does it help?
These improved control features “mute” and “remove” will be most beneficial for education users. As only the meeting creator or event owner or the user who creates the meeting from in-room hardware devices will be able to mute and remove other participants in the meeting. It will ensure that a teacher as an event owner or meeting creator can’t be mute or removed by the present students or participants in the meeting.
Nicknamed- meeting control is another improved control feature of the meet. Where the assigned teacher or staff can enter a nickname in the field name ‘Meeting code’.
It means if the teacher leaves the meeting as the last person, other students can’t rejoin the meeting without that teacher.
These controls and privileges can only be assigned from the admin panel and there is no action required of end-users.

This feature will be available for G Suite Education and G Suite Enterprise for Education users and will not be available in G Suite Basic, Business, Enterprise editions, or G Suite for nonprofits users.
