Mapping OneDrive as a Network Drive to File Explorer | Infiflex

Microsoft OneDrive is one of the most famous cloud storage services. It offers 1TB of free cloud storage, desktop and mobile apps, and various subscription plans. You can use OneDrive to back up data to the cloud, secure file-sharing, and access files anywhere anytime.

How to Map OneDrive (as Network Drive) to File Explorer

For making the best use of OneDrive, it is worth mapping Microsoft OneDrive as a network drive to File Explorer. Mapping OneDrive to File Explorer gives you the most convenient access to all of your OneDrive files without wasting time and energy. Microsoft Office365 does not offer you an easy way to Map Microsoft OneDrive as Network Drive.

Please follow the below steps:

1. Login into your Microsoft OneDrive on any of your device browsers.

2. In the Website Address bar, copy the entire URL address and paste it on a Notepad

3. Go to the internet option in your local device and choose the security option,  then select the internet option.

4. Click on the Custom Level and scroll down to User Authentication. Select the Automatic Logon with Current Username and Password option and Click on OK.

5. You have to follow the same steps for Local Internet and Trusted Sites Options.

6. In Trusted Sites click on the Site option and append the below URL along with your OneDrive entire URL address.https://*.sharepoint.com

7. Open up the run window in your local device and Type services.msc, and then press Enter. Make sure the 'Web Client' service is started on the client machines set to automatic with Running.

8.Now, Open your Windows PowerShell(Run As Administrator) and Run the below script.

Connect-SPOServiceUrl: https://infoworldinnet-admin.sharepoint.com

PS C:\Windows\system32> Set-SPOTenant -ViewInFileExplorerEnabled $True

PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-SPOTenant | ft ViewInFileExplorerEnabled

9. In the above PowerShell script put your own Tenant Sharepoint URL in the green marking area.

10. To get your Tenant Sharepoint URL you have to Login to your Microsoft Office365 admin panel and Click On the Sharepoint option.

11. A new tab will open and Copy the URL till yellow marking area from the Website Address bar.

12. Once you Run the above script on your PowerShell, It will ask you for Login Credential. Put your Global Admin Username and Password for Login.

13. Open Microsoft Edge(Run As Administrator) and Clean all Cache & Cookies first then go to the Microsoft Edge settings.

14. You have to select the Allow option in Default Browser and Add the entire URL address of your user’s OneDrive which you pasted on the Notepad.

15. Login to your Microsoft OneDrive on Microsoft Edge browser and click on the Left hand side below Return to classic OneDrive.

16. Once your classic OneDrive page will open, Click on the right hand side Setting option and select Show Ribbon.

17. Select the above LIBRARY Option And click on the Open With Explorer.

18. Once you Click on Open With Explorer, your local device File Explorer will open and Copy the entire address Path.

19. Go to This PC -> Map Network Drive -> Paste the entire address path in the Browse Option -> Finish

20. Now, you can use OneDrive as a Network Drive and can upload your files & Folders there.

21. If you see OneDrive which has been mapped as a NetworkDrive storage, is showing 200GB,then please do not be scared about it because OneDrive storage will show according to storage of device ‘C’ Drive but You can upload until your OneDrive storage will be full which is provided by the Microsoft365 in your plan.
