How it works: 

• Intune uses protocols or APIs available in mobile operating systems to execute tasks, like enrolling devices. Enrollment lets IT personnel maintain a listing of devices ready to access enterprise services
• Intune integrates with Azure Active Directory to supply access control capabilities
• Microsoft's app management approach - Intune, when utilized in conjunction with other EMS suite services, lets a corporation provide apps that will access the additional mobile app and data security measures, like single sign-on and multifactor authentication
