Data Migration and Drive Data Transfer Process in Admin Console of G Suite
Migration of data becomes seamless while switching over to G Suite and it’s not only the Email data which can be migrated but contacts and calendars too.

Before going into data migration through G Suite Admin Console First, let us understand what does data migration mean.
Data migration is a procedure of nominating, constructing, withdrawing and modifying of data permanently from one storage to another.
Cases when we do Data Migration.

When we shift from one email server to another then we want to shift our existing data to new server.

When an employee leaves the organization so before assigning his/her account to someone else then we need to Migrate / Transfer the data internally.
Now let’s come to the Data Migration process in Admin Console Panel of G Suite and How it is so helpful in securing or migrating data of a user.
Data migration admin feature in G Suite is helpful to migrate the data for a large number of Users.
For shifting to G suite Data Migration for Users, Labels, Calendars events, contacts, Mails, folders, and resources for both internally and from some other server.
Now coming to the part of drive data when an employee is leaving an Organization and his/her drive data has to be transferred or migrated to other user accounts.

Select a user whose account has to be deleted

Now click on the delete option.

After clicking the delete option a pop up comes for selecting the data which has to be migrated. When we Scroll down we can see the option of specifying the user where the data has to be migrated.
Now put the email id where the data has to be migrated and then click Delete user option.
With this process, the drive data will be migrated and the user will be deleted after that.
While Shifting over to G Suite and when one wants to shift their existing data to the google server, the steps which need to be performed through their G Suite Admin console.

In the admin dashboard go to data migration

After clicking on the Data Migration a new page will pop up as below
3. Now we need to decide which data do we want to migrate i.e Email, Contacts, Calendar. Thus select any and click to continue.
4. Here I have selected email migration and below the pop up comes.
5. Now select one

Select IMAP server name from the drop-down or if it is not listed there then select “ I don’t know/ Other IMAP server name or if it is Google to Google, select Gmail option.

Now select connection protocol ( Auto select from the IMAP server name mentioned above, Exchange web services, IMAP ) or if it is Gmail it will ask you to connect.

Put the email Id and password of the role account (Any associated email address of the existing domain) Eg: Super admin Id or other user Id with a password where the migration report will be sent.
6. Now after finishing the above steps click to “connect”. (In the case of Gmail)
7. Now you can select the migration start date from that date to recent date.
past 1 year,6 months,3 months, past month, custom date.
8. Check 1st two option under “ Migration options “
9. Put the Source email Id of old Gmail account in “ Migrate From” and put Destination email Id for new Gmail account in “ Migrate To “.
Note: In order to get the Authorization Code to click on “ AUTHORIZE “ and put the Source email Id’s password.
10. Click on START.
