Multitasking in iPad Using Gmail and Other iOS Applications
With the split view feature of iPad google finally adopted multitasking to support all the Gmail users including Gsuite users and personal account users on iPad, to ease the accomplishment of multiple tasks at a time without switching between tabs or different screens.

Using an iPad, Now You are Able to Do Multitasking
While working on iPad, you are now able to accomplish multiple tasks using Gmail and other IOS applications.
You can use Gmail and Google calendar at the same time with split screen view to review the schedule prior to replying to an email for the confirmation of the meeting. Not only this, you can also drag and drop pictures from Google photos to an email without just closing the Gmail interface that is much more convenient.
Getting Started
There is no admin control for this feature.
End Users
This feature is available to all end users by default.
To turn ON multitasking on your iPad-
1. Go to the settings.
2. Click home screen and dock.
3. Choose multitasking.
4. Select allow multiple apps.
To enter a split view when in Gmail, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the dock.
The iPad Dock is a section that stores frequently used or accessed apps, freeing you from having to scan through multiple screens or folders to locate a certain app. You can also use it to more easily multitask by opening two or more apps in Slide Over or Split View mode.
Touch and hold the app you want to open and just simply drag it to the left or right edge of the screen.
To get more efficiency while multitasking it is recommended that enable keyboard shortcuts for Gmail.
