Use Google Meet Video Meetings into Outlook
Use a Google Meet video meeting with the Google Meet add-in for Microsoft Outlook. The meeting members can click on the video meeting link in the Outlook event and join. Also invite additional users to the video meeting even after the meeting starts.
Implementation and Use:
If you are using a Windows computer and want to use Google meet with Outlook, then install DriveFS, which includes Meet and other useful features. The Outlook add-in is supported on your Windows computer or Mac system.
Install DriveFS and included Outlook plug-ins
You have to install Google Drive File Stream on your Windows computer to use Meet at work or school. The included plug-ins allow you to add Meet video calls and attach Google Drive files to Outlook emails and events.It is supported on Windows computers only.
Prerequisites
1. You should have Windows computer
2. You need to install the Drive File Stream version 39 or later
3. You must have a Gmail or G Suite account
It does not support Mobile devices, which don’t support the Meet add-in for Outlook.
Also, you can install the Meet Add-In directly if you have any of the following:
1. Mac computers
2. Outlook online
3. G Suite Sync for Microsoft Outlook (GSSMO), which synchronizes your data between Outlook and your Google Account
Please find the steps to implement it as given below:
1. Install Google Drive File Stream on your computer
2. Configure your Gmail or G Suite user id in outlook or If you are already using outlook, go to step 3
3. Go to the Files option in outlook and select options setting
4. Click on add ins setting and then click on Go option at the bottom
5. Select the ticks for Google Drive outlook Add-in and Google Meet Outlook Add-in and save it
6. Then close the outlook once and reopen. It will ask you to connect the users account, sign in and provide the access
7. Then go to the calendar from Outlook and try to schedule a meeting. Here it will show you the Google Meet addin
Finally, you can invite the attendees and can join the video meeting.
